Foobar2000

is an advanced audio player for the Windows platform, with a simple user interface and developed by Peter Pawlowski. Some of the basic features include full unicode support, ReplayGain support and native support for several popular audio formats. This program is released as freeware, but is also available a SDK (Software Development Kit) released under BDS license for plugins development.
